the croft land east of kings wayApplication Submitted For Phase 2 Of Kings Way Development

5th July 2016
by Peter Chapman

Persimmon Homes have submitted an application to Mid Sussex District Council for the construction of 87 new homes on the land east of Kings Way,

This application is phase 2 of 5, with the overall development already having outline planning permission for 480 homes (application ref: 12/01532/OUT)

Phase One consisted of 125 homes for which the development began in June 2015 with many of the homes now completed and sold. (Click to see gallery of the construction)

Phase Two of the development also includes a large play area and a 'country park'.

Burgess Hill Town Council have raised concern over the lack of parking spaces allocated in the plans.

Mid Sussex District Council's Housing Enabling and Development officer has queried why the developer is only providing 15% affordable homes and not the required 30%.

The plan also places all of the affordable homes together in one big cluster - breaking MSDC's policy which calls for this type of housing to be spread throughout the development alongside the full market rate homes.

The deadline for the public to comment on the application is Friday 8th July.
Head on over to the MSDC Planning portal and look up application: DM/16/2204 if you wish to make a representation.

Spread the word! Phase 2 of the Kings Way development has been submitted!
