Between 5pm and 7pm on Thursday 21 January, an 11-year old boy was on his way home in St Johns Park, Burgess Hill, when he was attacked by a group of boys.

He was abused, pushed and shoved to the ground before being put into a shopping trolley which was pushed along for a short distance before he was tipped out. The boy sustained cuts and bruises and made his way home, very upset.

PC Andrew Mackay said; "This was an unprovoked, cowardly assault on an 11-year old by a group including some older boys. We have interviewed three suspects, aged 15, 15 and 14, under caution on suspicion of assault, and enquiries are continuing to establish the facts surrounding this unpleasant incident".
