Britian's Got Talent Finalist To Perform At Burgess Hill Christmas Light Switch-On Event

Local Singer Tom Ball - who finished third in ITV's 'Britain's Got Talent' this year - will open Burgess Hill's Christmas Light Switch-On Event on Saturday 19th November at noon.



Musical entertainment will also be provided on the stage throughout the day by local choirs, community groups and schools.

The main event will see the Christmas Lights being switched on at 5pm by Town Mayor Peter Chapman along with the three young winners of The Mayor's Christmas Card competition.

During the day, mingling between the crowds will be various street performers. The Imperial Outlanders will return with their popular Star Wars characters (Including the giant Chewbacca!) and will debut their Marvel costumes to Burgess Hill.

Working alongside the Imperial Outlanders, to bring Christmas magic into the Town Centre will be Hodman and Sally – the fabulous walkabout puppets from The Flying Buttresses – as well as walkabout magic with Poi Passion.



A mini Christmas Market will be in Church Walk with community groups and local market traders offering a range of Christmas gifts, games and food, this will include a BBQ provided by the 7th Burgess Hill Scouts and a bottle tombola run by Burgess Hill Bonfire Society.

Altitude Events in attendance with their amazing Reindeer Roll-a-Ball where you go head-to-head against your friends and family to be the first to cross the finish line.

A Christmas-themed photobooth will be in operation in the Help Point from 1.30pm – 4pm.

There will be a festive Grotto for children to visit Santa and get a small present on the day. Running from 12pm – 4pm, this grotto will be supported by Central Sussex Rotary, Burgess Hill and District Rotary and Burgess Hill District Lions.



Town Mayor Peter Chapman said: "I'm really looking forward to the Christmas Lights Switch On, it's one of the highlights of the town's events calendar. It will be wonderful to see the return of the Imperial Outlanders - including the life-size Chewbacca! It provides a brilliant photo opportunity for all the family."
