Plans Revealed For Burgess Hill's 'Jubilee Fest'

Burgess Hill Town Council have revealed the full program of events taking place in the town to celebrate the Queen's Platinum Jubilee.

Under the banner of 'Jubilee Fest' the festival will begin on Wednesday 1st June running until Sunday 5th June.

Wednesday 1st June:

Burnside’s Jubilee Community Celebration. 1pm-3pm.
Includes a drama performance, raffle and artwork. There will be music from the years of the Queen’s reign, with a set by Mid Sussex Brass Band.

Wowzer Wednesday. 11am-3pm
Free Inflatables in St John’s Park, suitable for ages 3+.

Skate Fest. 2pm - 4.30pm
Held in the Stake Park in St Johns Park, the event is suitable for young people of all ages.
There will be DJ workshops, art activities and music. You can also get your wheels checked. Drop in, no booking required.

Thursday 2nd June:

Art and Craft Workshops

For both children and adults, the workshops will be taking place at the Cherry Tree Centre on Fairfield Road. Tickets for these sessions can been booked from Tuesday 3rd May, here: www.ticketsource.co.uk/burgesshilltowncouncil

Live Music Concert & Beacon Lighting. 7pm-10pm.
Held in St Johns Park, The Spinettes will be the headline act on stage along with performances from Tobias & Dan Russell. There will be a piper performance of ‘Diu Regnare, and the beacon will be lit to close the evening. No booking required.

Jubilee Festival Quiz Night. 8pm-10:15pm.
Held at the Woolpack pub. Book for £1 per person, teams of up to 6, by calling 01444 245 178.

The French Market. 9am-5pm
The popular attraction will be at Church Walk with a wide range of traditional French food stalls during the day.

Friday 3rd June:

Wheels Through The Years. 11am-4pm.
The Weald Classic Vehicle Club will be hosting a free event 'Wheels Through the Year's with a classic vehicle from every year of the Queen’s reign, in Fairfield
Recreation Ground. Come and have a go at Petanque with the U3A, childrens activities with Burgess Hill Youth and Bintems Crazy Golf! BBQ provided by 7th Scouts.

Jubilee Jest. 8pm-11pm.
An evening of stand-up comedy at Cyprus Hall, Hosted by the Burgess Hill
Bonfire Society - in collaboration with Rangatainment Comedy.

Party In The Park. Noon-8pm
Party in the Park returns in St John’s Park with an afternoon of live entertainment from 5 local bands. Food will be available from Burgess Hill Bonfire Society. There will also be an ice cream van and a bouncy castle for the kids. https://www.facebook.com/partyintheparkpage

Senior Citizen’s Tea Party. 2pm-4:30pm.
Enjoy afternoon tea and musical entertainment at St Wilfrid's Parish Centre.
Tickets are free, and can be booked through the Town Council Help Point, either in person or by calling 01444 247726, from Tuesday 3 May.

Sunday 5th June:

As You Like It. 6pm-8:30pm
The ever-popular Lord Chamberlain’s Men will perform Shakespeare’s ‘As You Like It’ in the grounds of Burgess Hill Girls. Advance tickets will be £13 for adults, and £8 for children. Book tickets via
