Burgess Hill Branch Of The Yorkshire Building Society Is Set To Close In Early 2021

21st October 2020 | By Peter Chapman

The Burgess Hill branch of the Yorkshire Building Society has been named as one of 12 branches to be closing in February 2021 as bosses announced changes to its network.

Over 152 employees across the country will be affected, but bosses hope to redeploy 20% to other areas of the business.

The branches selected for closure all have another branch located between one and nine miles away. In Burgess Hill's case, another is just up the road Haywards Heath.

The building society in Burgess Hill is part of the Martlets Shopping Centre (who aren't short of empty units) and this follows the closure of Cheltenham and Gloucester/TSB earlier in 2020 and Natwest Bank that closed a few years ago on Church Road - both buildings remain vacant.

The former Cheltenham and Gloucester/TSB closed earlier this year
