Burgess Hill Tesco Put A Chunk Of Their Car Park Up For Sale!

13th September 2018 | By Peter Chapman

There's a curious development opportunity at the Tesco Superstore located at Hammonds Farm, Burgess Hill after the retail giant put a chunk of their car park up for sale.

It's one of three sales in the area with portions of their car parks in Crawley and Worthing also on the market.

Tesco have decided that they only need 433 spaces to serve their Burgess Hill customers, so are dispensing of 102 in the south west corner of the site where the click and collect, car wash and recycling areas are currently located. Any potential buyer may be able to choose to take the north east corner of the car park as an alternative.

The decision to sell some land is surprising given that Burgess Hill is currently seeing rapid population growth at the moment - which will pick up even more over the next 10-15 years. You'd think Tesco would be looking for more spaces, not less.

It'll be interesting to see which retailer or other type of business decides to make the purchase.... if the price is right.
