community connections headerHelp For Older Residents With The Release Of
The 2017 'Community Connections' Directory

6th July 2017

Mid Sussex District Council has published a new and updated edition of the Community Connections Directory to help older residents get access to vital support services.

The new Community Connections Directory contains extensive contact information for the many local organisations that offer help to older people in the community. It provides details of organisations that can help older people with a range of issues like managing their money, maintaining their independence, finding local social activities or getting support with housing issues.

Mid Sussex District Council is also pleased to announce the online edition of the Community Connections Directory of Services for Older People (50+) in Mid Sussex is also now available for the first time at www.community-connections.org.uk/

Due to demand from health care professionals and voluntary organisations supporting older people, the Community Connections Directory of Services has been expanded to include a section on dementia services. Copies are available now from the Mid Sussex District Council offices, Help Points in Burgess Hill, East Grinstead and Haywards Heath, in local libraries and in doctor’s surgeries throughout Mid Sussex.

“We’re really lucky to have such a wide range of support organisations in Mid Sussex that are so dedicated to helping older people,” said Councillor Norman Webster, Cabinet Member for Community.

“We want to make sure everybody who needs some support knows where to find it and that’s where our Community Connections Directory comes in. The directory has a list of every local support organisation, along with a brief explanation of the services they provide and the contact details you need to get in touch with them.

“If you’re an older person who needs a helping hand or you know of someone in the community who could benefit from some extra support then please pick up a copy of our Community Connections Directory.”

The Directory forms part of the Mid Sussex Wellbeing Hub, a comprehensive service providing residents with information and advice on all physical and emotional health matters.
