et graffitiNando's Sign Up To Be Part Of The New Town Centre
In Burgess Hill

Big news coming from NewRiver Retail - owners of the Martlets Shopping Centre - for they have announced that Nando's have signed on the dotted line to come to Burgess Hill as part of the big redevelopment.

As well as Nando's, NewRiver Retail have confirmed that fashion retailer NEXT have also signed up to come to the new centre. The two new pre-lets take the retail and leisure element of the scheme to 49% pre-let, with a further 10% in solicitors’ hands.

Hotel chain Travelodge, and Cineworld also form part of the scheme.

With the purchase of the gas holder site on Leylands Road completed - which enables Lidl to be relocated there, and Iceland moving into the unit on Church Walk vacated by Store TwentyOne, it means that NewRiver 'hope' to be in a position to begin work on the Martlets Shopping Centre later this year.

Justin Thomas, Director at NewRiver, commented:
“We are making excellent progress and these key events mark a significant milestone for the deliverability of this exciting development. We are delighted to have popular brands including Next and Nando’s to anchor our redevelopment in the heart of Burgess Hill. Key to the success of our proposals is creating a truly vibrant town centre experience, and new restaurants will complement the evening economy that we are aiming for, bolstered by the multiplex Cineworld that now sits at the heart of the development.

“This investment will act as a catalyst for further growth and investment for the whole town, and will help ensure, in partnership with the Council, that Burgess Hill can keep local shoppers shopping locally, while attracting shoppers and visitors from even further afield to the benefit of the whole town.”

Spread the word, Nando's are coming to Burgess Hill!
