frank milliganLocal Community Plan Fayre In Memory Of Frank Milligan

16th March 2017

A Community Fayre is being planned in memory of a larger than life Community figure, Frank Milligan, who tragically passed away last year  before the Bedelands Fayre he was planning in Burgess Hill could take place.

Every year Frank, and other residents, put on a Community Fayre for local families.

The new event is Maple Drive Community Fayre & Walking Football Competition on Saturday 8th July 2017 – 2pm-5pm, to be held on the “Leylands Park pitches” near Bedelands, Off Maple Drive, Burgess Hill.

The Planning Team would like to give anyone and everyone the opportunity to be involved and they can do this by having a stall, donating a prize for the tombola or just helping on the day.  Lots of exciting show ring evets and stalls are planned, so please spread the word.

Check us out on facebook https://www.facebook.com/groups/648616072013689/?ref=br_tf or you can e mail us on mapledrivecommunityfayre@outlook.com or call Roy Evans (01444) 245322 or Karen Taylor 07817 951317.

The Maple Drive Community Fayre Committee was delighted to receive a grant of £500 from Affinity Sutton towards the costs and expenses of putting on this event, which will help to make it a special occasion. Thank you!

Walking Football Tournament
As part of the Maple Drive Community Fayre on 8th July 2017 we are inviting community organisations and churches to enter a 6 a-side (plus substitutes), 50 plus walking football team.

Walking Football is non-contact, and as the name suggests, the only form of movement is walking. Anyone that sprints, runs or jogs while the ball is in play will be penalised with a free-kick awarded to the other team.

Enter your team by the 31st May by phoning Trevor Beckett on 01444 236292 or email tbeckett@btopenworld.com

The competition on the day will be organised by Burgess Hill Town Football Club and will be held on their pitch. The clubhouse will be open on the day for family and friends to enjoy the event free of charge. This way we can all support the Fayre, get active and have fun!

Spread the word, a community fayre and walking football tournament is taking place in memory of Frank Milligan
