birchwood grove primary school sports kitBurgess Hill Rugby Club and GR-Teamwear donate new kit to Birchwood Grove School
19th January 2015

Birchwood Grove Primary School were the surprise beneficiaries of a new team kit supplied by GR Teamwear in Church Road following a Twitter competition run by the company last year. The prize was actually won by Burgess Hill RFC Colts. However, the team had recently purchased a new kit so passed along the prize to the local primary school which comprised of 14 custom printed Joma match shirts, along with matching shorts and socks.

BHRFC Colts team manager Steve Blanthorn explains:

After years without one it’s great having a sports shop back in town again. We entered the competition really to generate awareness and help promote the new business amongst our many members at the rugby club.

Of course we were delighted to win the competition but we have just bought a brand new kit ourselves and due to the massive punishment our shirts have to withstand, they are far heavier duty than similar looking football shirts. However, we wanted someone to benefit from this generous prize and opted to donate the full kit to Birchwood Grove School instead, who we know are extremely grateful and will put the kit to good use.

Pictured here are some of the year 5 boys who will be wearing the new kit, along with (from left to right) BHRFC Colts Captain Harry Blanthorn, Kieran Ridley from GR Teamwear, and Malcolm Barton, deputy head at Birchwood Grove School.

Spread the good news that Birchwood Grove have benefited from the generosity of BHRFC and GR Teamwear
