sussex policePolice appeal for witnesses to New Year’s Day assaults in Burgess Hill

Police are appealing for witnesses after two 15-year-old girls and a 30 year-old man were assaulted in Civic Way Burgess Hill, on Thursday (1 January).

The victims were involved in an argument near to the Waitrose store at 1.45.am. 

Both girls were pushed and the 30-year-old man was treated by paramedics for a cut to his head after he was hit by a wine bottle.

PC Jim Lee said: "Please contact us if saw this incident. We would particularly like to speak to a member of the public that tried to intervene.

A 30-year-old man and a 17-year-old boy both from Burgess Hill, were arrested on suspicion of assault. They were questioned and released on bail until Thursday 5 February.
