The following is a press release from the club:

Saturday 6th September 2014 has been officially designated as Non-League Day 2014. To support and celebrate non-league football, Burgess Hill Town FC is delighted to announce FREE entry for ALL. The Hillians play East Grinstead (3pm) that day in the Ryman League Division One South and all Adults and Children will get FREE admission.

To help cover expenses the club are delighted to announce that Burgess Hill based company, Planet Partitioning have generously agreed to sponsor the day.

Darren Hawkins from Planet Partitioning saidWe are delighted to be supporting  Burgess Hill Town FC with this scheme and to be able to let the local community support the Club – all for free”.

Non-League Day falls once a year and is designed to get football fans of clubs playing at all levels from the Premiership down to support their local teams. There are no Premiership or Championship fixtures that day because England will be playing on the Wednesday then Monday.

Some clubs have in the past offered discounted entrance fees for season ticket holders of other professional clubs but the Hillians have taken the bold decision to open their doors to not only to those supporters but to the whole community – for free.

Chairman Kevin Newell saidWe are enjoying exciting times at the club at the moment. We hope by getting involved in Non-League Day 2014 we can advertise the work that is being done both on and off the pitch. We want ‘new faces’ at this game and we want them to come back for more. We believe we offer the best football and facilities in Mid Sussex and we want the community of Burgess Hill and its surrounding area to see for themselves and if they come on Sept 6th they can – for free!

Manager Ian Chapman is also urging people to come down and support saying On Saturday we play East Grinstead who have had a decent start to the season and have recently won away at Guernsey, so we know it will be a difficult game.

“It’s free entry on Saturday so we are hoping for a decent crowd. So far at home we have won 3 and drawn 1, scoring 10 and conceding 5 in the 4 games so there have been plenty of attacking entertaining football to watch”.

He added “Home form is always key to having a good season. There are plenty of exciting youngsters on show in Greg Luer, Dan Perry, Will Miles and Lee Harding who got the winner last week in the FA Cup. All these boys came through the youth system at the Club, so please come along on Saturday to support the lads, it really does make a difference”.

Hillians will be running a raffle on the day with prizes being donated by local businesses including GR Teamwear,  The Oak Barn Resteraunt, The Six Gold Martlets (Weatherspoons in Burgess Hill), KJ Thorne Butchers, Bodle Bros, Hassocks Golf Club and Pyecombe Golf Club + more prizes on the day!

So come along with your family and friends, young and old

It's good to share, let people know about free football this weekend!
