Mid Sussex Battle Of The Bands Returns
For A Second Year

After a highly successful inaugural competition the Battle of the Bands competition is returning for a second year in Mid Sussex and it promises to be bigger and better.

Jointly promoted by Hereward Kaye of Rok Skool and Robert Eggleston of Snowdrop Music and with strong backing from Freedom Leisure as sponsor the competition is being opened up to a wider pool of local talent.

There are four categories next year which will cater for solo artists as well as bands.

Soloist categories are:

(A) ages 11 – 16 and

(B) aged 17 - 21

Bands (two or more members) are:

(A) ages 11-16

(B) ages 17 - 21

To be eligible, soloists must live in Mid Sussex and the bands must have at least one member living in Mid Sussex.

Applications open on Wednesday 1st January 2014 and close on Friday 14th February 2014.
Application forms are available by email from snowdropmusic@talktalk.net and more information can be found on the Battle of the Bands website – www.battleofthebandsmsx.com.

Auditions will be held on Friday February 28th February and Saturday 1st March with four successful finalists from each category going through to the final.

The final of Battle of the Bands takes place in the Martlets Hall during the Burgess Hill Fairtrade and Freedom Festival on Friday 14th March 2014 with 8 bands and 8 soloists taking part.

Prizes The winners in each category will get three opportunities to perform at live gigs as well as a trophy and cash prize.

“It is very exciting for us to bring back Battle of the bands for a second year and also widen the scope of the competition,” says Robert Eggleston, Principal of Snowdrop Music and organiser of the event. “With only four finalists in each category we are expecting hot competition for one of the prizes and we’ll make sure we put on a great show for everybody”
