BURGESS HILL BONFIRE SOCIETY 2003 EVENT

The annual Bonfire Society night was held on Saturday 27th September 2003.
The population of Burgess Hill swarmed to Fairfield Rec for the Fireworks display which had followed the wonderful procession.
Below are some photos of Burgess Hill's biggest night of the year!

The banner bearer for Burgess Hill.
What a special moment in that mans life.
(Being photographed by BHU that is!)
Here are the other fine troops representing Burgess Hill. Why is the young girl at the front carrying a flame torch? Do her parents know?
No ideas on what this man
has come dressed as
Why is one of Gods angels
carrying a torch of fire?
Fletching were one of the Societies who were paid lots of Money to 'dirty'
themselves to come to Burgess Hill!
In the old days, Floats used to be the main spectacle of the
procession, this was the best the public got to seeing a proper float!
Not to be confused for a fat turkey
in a brown jacket.
