I have lived in the Burgess Hill Meeds ward for 12 years. I am married with 4 young children. I work full time & I have been a school governor.

I collected 1,379 signatures to petition Conservative controlled MSDC for a kids water play area in St John's Park. MSDC have kicked it into the long grass.

Give me a chance to kick MSDC where it hurts, in the ballot box.

What have the Conservatives done for us?

The Conservative controlled Town & District Councils have been an unmitigated disaster for the people of Burgess Hill & Mid Sussex.

Because of the Conservatives, local people's voices are never heard. The Conservative talk of 'Localism' is just that, talk.

The Conservative 'Cabinet' style of local government is simply anti-democratic.

Because of the Conservatives, a District Plan is unbelievably still not in place, to protect our countryside & towns from unwanted housing developments.

Because of the Conservatives, the Neighbourhood Plan, has failed to to protect important local assets like the Orion cinema or the Martlets.

Because of the Conservatives, Burgess Hill is treated as a cash cow. A vast amount of money paid by developments in this town is simply kept by MSDC.

Because of the Conservatives, our town centre's future appears to be driven by commercial interests, rather than by the people who live here.

Because of the Conservatives' stranglehold on local decision-making, local government has become out of touch with local people's views.

What would UKIP Councillors do differently?

• UKIP councillors would bring back power to the people.
• UKIP councillors would not be whipped to toe the party line.
  
• UKIP councillors would stand up for common sense and local people.
  
• UKIP councillors would put the people first. For example UKIP believe in local referenda on important issues.
  
• UKIP councillors trust the people and simply wish to serve the people they have been elected to represent.
