Anne Eves, Green Party
Leylands Ward
I have lived in Mill Road, Leylands Ward, for 13 years. You may have seen me with my husband walking down Mill Road doing some volunteer litter-picking. We keep bees in our back garden and grow our own fruit & vegetables.I work as a freelance translator.
If elected I would oppose the district plan on its current scale. I am against building houses on greenfield land, but in favour of developing on the gasholder plot and the Keymer tileworks plot, and other brownfield sites.
I would vigorously oppose the disappearance of the Martlets centre under the New River plans. I would tackle the litter problem (more bins, more involvement of the takeaway outlets, more fines).
I would oppose fracking which is a threat to our water supply and to our future.
By voting Green you can vote for a fairer society and an end to the age-old one-party stranglehold on local government in Mid-Sussex.
Vote for people who will represent you rather than the wealthy, the oil industry and the developers. Vote Green!
As your councillor I will work for a green and fairer deal for everyone in Mid Sussex. If elected I promise to:
- Defend local services from vicious cuts made in the name of austerity.
- Stand up for your community, defend our green spaces and work with the Mid Sussex rural economy.
- Help local people struggling with housing issues.
- Fight for decent and affordable public transport.
- Oppose fracking which would have devastating far-reaching consequences.
