By Peter Chapman

Burgess Hill Town FC's Womens team will hope to repeat the men's success at Culver Road, Lancing tomorrow evening (Thursday 7th) as they face Hassocks Ladies in the final of the Sussex Challenge Trophy.

This Mid Sussex Derby will provide a chance for manager Mark Bishop and his team to go one better than last season when they fell to Newhaven Ladies 5-3 where the Dockers' blisteringly quick front line were too hot to handle for the Hillans.

The Ladies Sussex Challenge Trophy is entered by teams in the South East Counties League Division One and from the Sussex County Women's League.

Sussex teams of a higher standard compete in the Sussex Womens Challenge Cup

Both Hassocks and Burgess Hill play their domestic football in the South East Counties League Division One West.

Hassocks are the current table toppers with a perfect 12 wins from 12 games. Burgess Hill sit in third place by have a lots of games in hand on the teams around them and are a good bet to finish the season in second place.

Interestingly, the two sides are yet to meet in the league this season, so it really adds a bit of mystery of what to expect in the final!
