Masterplan
Delay
"Staying the same
is not an option" - that was what we
were told. However John Jory, MSDC Chief Executive,
now says of the local plans: "
consider
whether
to proceed with the master plans, amend them
or abandon them."
So, finally MSDC has realised
that their proposals are extremely unpopular.
Seemingly, the only people who like them are
the council and Thornfield Properties. Not
that they want to talk to the little people.
TC Steven in the Middy Mailbag says that Thornfield
Properties representative at Burgess Hill
library was new to the company and said he
couldn't comment. Whoever he was, I feel sorry
for him. Obviously, all the important people
don't want to be confronted with a hostile
crowd, hope all the fuss dies down and then
they can get to the important job of making
money.
Now, we have the
deadline for consultation extended. Have we
got local elections this May? If we have,
it's a pity; I was so looking forward to our
councillors electioneering. For I would like
to know the councillors' views on the local
plan. And they clearly don't seem to be in
touch with the people that vote.
