Mid Sussex District Council is offering a free afternoon of fun and activities for local children and their families in St John’s Park, Burgess Hill on Wednesday 2 August from 11am until 3pm.
The Council has organised a variety of sports, games and creative activities for local families to enjoy as part of Play Day 2017.
The theme this year is ‘Wheels in Motion’ and children will have the chance to take part in cycle races (please bring your bikes) or challenge fellow speed demons in a solar powered miniature car Grand Prix.
Youngsters can learn about local history by visiting a real Gypsy Vardo, the traditional horse-drawn wagon that was used by British Romani people as their home or take a trip on a miniature railway.

Kids will get stamps for taking part in each activity and by completing their card they will be entered into a prize draw for the chance to win the first prize, a one month Family Leisure Centre Membership donated by Places for People Leisure.
Play Day events will also be taking place in Haywards Heath on Tuesday 1 August and East Grinstead on Wednesday 9 August. There’s no need to pre-book, so please just come along on the day and join in the fun.
Last year we over 2,500 young people and families came along over the three days. We have a great line-up of FREE activities so please come along and help us to beat that this year.
