On Friday evening, a ‘sleep easy’ event was held in Burgess Hill Town Centre in aid of rasing funds for Sussex Central YMCA.

Paticipants slept in cardboard boxes through until 7am on Saturday morning. During the event, these voluntary homeless people went round begging for food from local businesses and took donation boxes round to the Burgess Hill nightlife locations.

Paul Myles & Sara Martin from Burgess Hill Boys’ Club would sincerely like to thank all those that sponsored us as individuals, also thank the proprietors of the local pubs, restaurants and battle of the bands who welcomed us into their premises and their patrons / audience therein, who so generously donated money on the night.

A very cold experience in a noisy town centre, that turned out to be a whole lot of fun and showed the true spirit of the town centre management team, police and local businesses who also gave generously.
